Mike Ricard
What's wrong with Michael Ricard?
Briefly, Ricard sued to knock a legitimate candidate off
the ballot.
He refuses
to debate his opponents. And he has abused his power,
through a lowball
assessment and an improper
zoning variance.
Ricard is trying to
prevent Guilderland voters from having a choice
in the 2007 elections. He wants to
eliminate a legitimate candidate
from the ballot. He is afraid of
letting the voters choose an
alternative.
He has even sued his opponents in
court to try to limit voter choice.
Read about it in the Altamont
Enterprise (3rd story).
Ricard, along with fellow incumbent Dave Bosworth,
has consistently tightened town control over information,
so voters can't find out what is
going on with town goverment. The
budget
is not publicly available, and if
you can get it (through the FOIL
process), it
is completely unclear and regular
people cannot understand it.
Both Ricard and Bosworth
have sweetheart tax assessments, paying
substantially lower taxes than the
rest of us in town. The average home
in
Guilderland is assessed at $115
per square foot. David
Bosworth's
house is assessed at only $97 per
square foot, but that isn't the big
story.
Mike Ricard has his house
assessed at only $79 per square foot,
among
the lowest assessments
of any homeowner in Guilderland.
